Split or Window Air Conditioners, Which suits you best?

Operational Setup:
Split AC:

The split AC or wall air-conditioned has two separate units. One unit is indoors which has the evaporator and the actual AC panel. The other unit is placed outside which has the condenser and compressor.

A copper tube connects the two systems. The outdoor unit requires a stand for it to be mounted on. The advantage when it comes to split AC systems is that one outdoor unit is enough for multiple indoor air conditioning units.

Window AC:

The window air conditioners have all the components as a single unit setup. It's installed in the window of a house or commercial space.

The compressor, motor, heat exchangers have the same operational unit.

Advantages
Split AC:

Lower noise levels when compared to window AC's as the compressor unit is ideally placed outside

Comparatively smaller and wall mounted as many prefer it that way

Window AC:

On the other hand the window AC has an all-in-one unit; this can be an advantage in the case of space limitations. It takes up limited spaces as it's mounted on the window frame

Quicker and easier installation

Easier to service as it's an all in one mechanism

Useful notes:

Look at your personal requirements, that more than anything has to be the deciding factor on the type of AC you buy

If a window pane isn't appropriately placed to fit a window AC, it's better to go for a split system. If you have space constraints outside regarding placing a split system. Try and opt for a window AC
